Charlotte Willfors (PhD student)


Charlotte studied psychology (MSc) at Lund University, Sweden (2003-2008). After some years of clinical work in Youth and Child Psychiatry, she joined the Karolinska Institutet Centre of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (KIND; Stockholm, Sweden) in 2011. At KIND, her main focus has been the 'Roots of Autism Twin Study Sweden' (RATSS-CATSS) project. Her research interests centre on behavioural geentics of neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Charlotte is about to start her PhD in KIND, supervised by Prof Sven Bölte and co-supervised by Ass Prof Anna Falk, Dr Katell Mevel, and Dr Angelica Ronald. As part of the RATSS study, her PhD work will aim at exploring ASD aetiology through behavioural, neurocognitive, neurostructural, and epigenetic data collected among monozygotic twin pairs discordant for ASD.
