Spring 2021

In early March Emma acted as examiner for Kylie Glanville’s thesis at King’s College, London. The statistical genetics project examined evidence for shared genetic aetiology between autoimmune disorders and depression, and was supervised by Professor Cathyrn Lewis and Dr Paul O’Reilly

Our Genetics Journal Club welcomed guest presenter Bradley Jermy from the SGDP Centre at King’s College, London, to discuss his recent preprint, ‘What’s in a Diagnosis? A genetic decomposition of major depression’

A new paper by GEL lab co-director Emma and GEL lab alumni Georgie Donati published in Nature Scientific Reports finds evidence for genetic specificity in adolescent academic subject attainment and indicates finer-grained phenotyping is needed to build genetically informed biological models of variance in learning processes and abilities.
